The Norman Police Department has made an arrest in a home burglary reported this morning. The suspect is a juvenile. He has been charged with Burglary II and booked in to the Juvenile Intervention Center.

Communications received a burglar alarm at 7:54 am and dispatched officers to an address in the 800 block of Humming Fish Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered forced entry and began investigating. Shortly after they finished checking the home for a suspect, a resident from the 700 block of Humming Fish Drive called dispatch to report a Hispanic male had just run through her yard and dropped some property, then continued eastbound. She described the subject as 5'6", slender build, wearing a grey t-shirt and dark colored sweatpants.

Off. Deny Oesterling and MPO Rob Ridner, with the assistance of other officers, investigated the burglary and continued to gather evidence.

This afternoon, the police department received another call from the resident in the 700 block of Humming Fish Drive saying the suspect had returned to her backyard and appeared to be looking for something. She continued to observe him and told us what residence he went in to. Because of the information she provided, we were able to arrest the suspect at his residence.
