America’s Top Illusionist Rob Lake Returns Home for Animal Rescue Benefit Show

One of the world’s most celebrated illusionists and native Oklahoman Rob Lake will return home for two special benefit shows at Norman’s Nancy O’Brian Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. After last year’s sold-out performance, a second night was added for 2018.

Dazzling and entertaining millions over the last decade with his awe-inspiring original illusions, the youngest recipient ever of the coveted Merlin Award will whisk away his fellow Oklahomans on a mind-bending magical adventure when he brings his show, “The Magic of Rob Lake,” to the Center this weekend.

Proceeds from the show will be granted to a cause Lake holds near and dear to his heart – animal rescue – and one in which he champions daily. In fact, Lake’s own furry companion Roger, a Yorkie mutt, was once a rescue dog and is now a popular part of his show.

The two beneficiaries of the event will be Norman Animal Welfare and Friends for Folks ( Proceeds from the evening will aid in both organizations’ dedication to animal rescue efforts, including Friends for Folks mission to pair unadoptable dogs with Oklahoma state correctional inmates.

In addition to benefiting animal groups, hundreds of tickets are being sponsored for low-income children and families to attend both performances.

Over the last few years, Lake has traveled around the world bringing his physics and sometimes even death-defying illusions to audiences at the sun-soaked Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, Atlantic City, New York’s Times Square, on the Las Vegas Strip, and Lake Tahoe. He’s even performed his epic illusions on national network television.

This spring, Lake will embark on his 11th annual world tour bringing his show to U.S. military personnel and their families stationed overseas throughout Europe. Over the last decade, he’s entertained American troops throughout Asia, Oceania, and other remote areas of the globe.
