Critical Injury Collision at 168th Avenue NE and Tecumseh Road

On September 3 at approximately 9:06 p.m., the Norman Police Department responded to a report of a hit and run injury collision near the intersection of 168th Avenue NE and Tecumseh Road. The preliminary investigation of the collision indicates that a motorcycle was southbound on 168th Avenue when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene of the collision.

The driver of the motorcycle was able to call 911 and request help. The 60-year-old male was transported from the scene by EMSSTAT to OU Medical Center in stable but critical condition.

Investigators are asking for the community’s help to locate a 2006-2008 Ford Taurus, silver in color. The vehicle will be missing the driver’s side mirror and will have front end damage. If anyone sees or has information regarding a vehicle that matches this description, contact Norman Police at 405-321-1444.

The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
