Norman Police Arrest One in Connection with Assault

On August 8th at approximately 2:25 P.M. the Norman Police Department
responded to the area of 12th Ave SE and Alameda Street in reference
to a physical altercation. While responding, officers were advised that the one
person had possibly been stabbed and the suspect had left the area. Upon their
arrival officers located an injured juvenile male. The juvenile was treated on
scene for his injuries and later transported by EMSSTAT to a local hospital
where he was admitted in stable condition.

An investigation into the incident identified Wolfgang Johnston, age 27 of Norman,
as the person who had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Approximately
two hours after the incident officers were able to locate Johnston. Following
further investigation, Johnston was placed under arrest and subsequently
transported to the F. Dewayne Beggs Detention Center where he was booked in on
one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

At this time no further persons are being sought in relation to this incident.
