The Norman Police Department responded to a call for service regarding an officer needed, nature unknown at an apartment in the 900 block 24th Avenue at approximately 4:19 p.m. Tuesday. Once on scene, officers located one deceased male who had sustained numerous knife wounds to his face, neck, torso, and arms.

Based on the evidence at the scene, the Criminal Investigations Division initiated a homicide investigation. During the course of the investigation, a suspect contacted the Norman Police Department and reported that she wanted to turn herself in for her participation in the incident.

Investigators made contact with the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Allison Cometsevah (DOB: 10/17/1988), and completed an interview with her regarding her role in the incident. She subsequently confessed to killing the victim. Cometsevah was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of Murder in the First Degree.

Motive remains under investigation at this time. Early indications are that the victim and Cometsevah had just recently become acquaintances.
