Norman Police Explorers Excel at Regional Conference

The Norman Police Explorers recently competed at the 2017 LEEPAAC Regional Explorers Conference held in Gunnerson, Colorado. The conference consisted of approximately 180 police explorers from Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. The results of the competition are below. 

In the individual traffic stop competition, two Norman Police Explorers finished in top ten with one placing 6th and another placing 7th. Approximately 180 explorers took part in the competition. 

In the team competitions, the Norman Police Explorers took part in six competitions earning numerous awards and top finishes. 

  • Major Grace Touchstone's Team earned a 2nd place finish in Building Searches and a 3rd place finish in Domestic Violence Response. 
  • Lieutenant Seth William's Team earned a 2nd place finish in Crime Scene Investigations. 
  • Lieutenant Garrett Melsek's Team earned a 1st place finish in High-Risk Active Shooter, 4th place finish in CIT Deesclation, and 5th place in Hostage Negotiations. 
  • Explorer Dylan Lopez's Team earned a 1st place finish in Domestic Violence Response.
