The Norman Police Department is currently investigating the death of a 20-month-old male. Officers responded to a report of an unattended death in the 900 block of 24th Avenue SW just after 8 a.m. Saturday. Once on scene, officers made contact with other first responders who advised that the 20-month-old male was confirmed deceased upon arrival. The infant had visible signs of bruising around his throat as well as dried blood near his nose. Preliminary results from the Medical Examiner’s Office cite blunt force trauma as the cause of death for the child.

Norman police arrested 25-year-old Jake Ryan Holman in connection to the death of the infant Tuesday afternoon. Holman will be booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center for first degree-murder.

This case remains under investigation.
