Norman Police Investigate Pursuit

The Valley Brook Police Department initiated the pursuit of a vehicle for reckless driving after it failed to yield to an emergency vehicle at approximately 1 p.m. Monday. A short time later, the pursuit continued into Norman city limits, and Valley Brook police requested the assistance of the Norman Police Department with the pursuit. 

During the course of the pursuit, multiple shots were fired in the direction of pursuing officers. The pursuit ended in the 1300 block of Creekside Drive where the subject was taken into custody by a Norman officer following a short foot pursuit. 

The Valley Brook Police Department further requested for the Norman Police Department to take over the investigation into the incident. 

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 22-year-old Darion Keis-Koval Willhoite (DOB: 11-26-1996). Willhoite was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on Felony Eluding, Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm after Previous Felony Conviction, Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property, and Possession of Marijuana. 

No one was injured during the pursuit and there are no other suspects outstanding. The incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Section of the Norman Police Department.
