In individual scenarios, the team finished in first place in Death Investigations, Burglary in Progress Calls, Domestic Disturbance Calls, Driving Under the Influence Traffic Stop, and a Mental Health-Related Call. The team finished second place in the Unknown Traffic Stop Scenario, Arrest and Search Scenario, and the 911 Hang Up Call.

Law enforcement explorer competitions provide an opportunity for members of explorer posts from across the nation to gather in a competitive format to test their skills, expand their knowledge, and network with peers for the improvement of their individual organizations, themselves, and the national program. Law Enforcement Exploring completions are designed to test the strengths of individual members and teams through the completion of numerous realistic law enforcement situations faced by officers, deputies, agents, and troopers in departments around the world. The events are both physically and mentally demanding and are reviewed by members of the law enforcement community to evaluate the participants’ actions in law enforcement, communication, crime scene processing, investigations, officer safety, tactical skills, decision making, and many other critical factors.

Law Enforcement Exploring provides educational training programs for young adults on the purposes, mission, and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults evaluate a possible career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to be responsible citizens of their community and the nation. Members of the post are required to be between 14 and 21 years of age. For additional information about the Norman Police Department Explorer Post or to apply for membership, contact
