The Norman Police Department is set to hold its Know You Limits educational project this weekend. This project allows
officers to have positive contact with bar goers on Campus Corner, better educating them on the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit for operating a motor vehicle and how little alcohol it takes to get a BAC of .08 or more.

WHO:             Norman Police Department

WHAT:          Volunteer participants are asked what they believe their BAC is currently, and if they’d feel safe driving a car. They then blow into a breathalyzer in front of their friends. Participants, even those with a BAC in excess of .08, are not arrested for being drunk in public. Instead, they are provided an education on alcohol consumption, safety, and reducing impaired driving.

WHERE:        Campus Corner

WHEN:          Friday, August 17 starting at 10 p.m.

The Know You Limits Project is done in partnership with the OU Southwest Prevention Office. The first Know Your Limits Project was held in October 2015. During these projects, officers typically make contact with over 200 patrons.

Media interested in attending or covering the project are asked to contact Sarah Jensen at 405-307-7122.
