NPD Investigates Critical Injury Collision on Highway 9 near Berry Road

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a critical injury collision on State Highway 9 near Berry Road today at 3:18 a.m. The preliminary investigation of the collision indicates that a Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on State Highway 9 near Berry Road at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, the vehicle departed the roadway, hit a guardrail, and rolled at least once.

The driver of the Ford Focus has been identified as 25-year-old Colter Addington of Norman. Addington was transported by EMSSTAT to OU Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.  

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the collision.

One eastbound lane of State Highway 9 was closed for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated. The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
