NPD Investigates Critical Injury Collision on Lindsey Street

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a critical injury collision at the intersection of Lindsey Street and George Avenue at 7:03 p.m. Thursday. The preliminary investigation into the collision indicates that a 2007 Toyota Tundra was northbound on George Avenue turning west onto Lindsey Street when it struck a pedestrian who was walking northbound crossing Lindsey Street in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian has been identified as 27-year-old Destiny Guerrero of Wichita Falls, Texas. Guerrero was transported by EMSSTAT to OU Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra has been identified as 21-year-old Laura Amstutz of Tulsa. Amstutz was not injured in the collision.

Westbound Lindsey Street between Classen Boulevard and Jenkins Avenue as well as eastbound Lindsey Street between McKinley Avenue and George Avenue were closed for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated. The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
