NPD Investigates Double Fatality Collision at 60th Avenue SE and Alameda

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a critical injury collision at the intersection of 60th Avenue SE and Alameda Street at approximately 2:20 p.m. Tuesday. The preliminary investigation into the collision indicates that a pick-up truck traveling northbound on 60th Avenue SE failed to yield or stop at the stop sign and struck a motorcycle traveling westbound on Alameda Street in the intersection. Both the driver and passenger on the motorcycle sustained significant injuries as a result of the collision.

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as 57-year-old William Gallivan of Wichita Falls, Texas. William Gallivan was transported by EMSSTAT to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The passenger on the motorcycle has been identified as 58-year-old Debra Gallivan of Wichita Falls, Texas. Debra Gallivan was transported by EMSSTAT to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck has been identified as 53-year-old Leslie Elfring of Oklahoma City. Elfring was not injured in the collision. Charges are pending the completion of the collision investigation.

Portions of Alameda Street and 60th Avenue were closed for approximately four hours. The collision is under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
