NPD Investigation Leads to Multiple Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Charges Presented to the Cleveland County District Attorney

The Norman Police Department has submitted Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) charges on multiple individuals for their involvement in numerous armed robberies, vehicle thefts, drive-by shootings, and drug-related offenses that have occurred in Norman.

During the course of the investigation, detectives and officers discovered that the group of individuals who committed the criminal acts identified themselves as members of the Murder Money Gang. Their crime spree extended over a six-month period, from June to December 2018.  The organization also committed various criminal offenses in jurisdictions outside of Norman.

At this time, all of the individuals involved in the Murder Money Gang are currently in custody at various detention centers.

This investigation was conducted by the Norman Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Criminal Investigations Section, and Special Investigations Section, under the assistance of the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office.
