Safety Town

Safety Town is a unique educational experience for children ages 5 and 6. Held each year during the month of June, Safety Town educates participants on bicycle, street and personal safety. The course also discusses stranger safety, use of 911, and fire safety. Each week-long session is free and consists of five 50-minute classes. Upon completion of the program, each child receives a graduation certificate and the helmet that they wore during safety training.

Safety Town is a partnership between Sooner Mall and the Norman Police Department. The educational experience would not be possible without the following sponsors: Sooner Rotary Club, Al's Bicycles, Image 360, Chick-fil-A, Norman Fire Department, EMSSTAT, and the Norman Traffic and Streets Division.

Registration for 2019 Safety Town sessions will open in May 1, 2019. Children must be 5-years-old by June 1, 2019 and cannot turn 7-years-old before July 1, 2019 to enroll. Please indicate your child's date of birth on the registration form.
