The Norman Police Department arrested 40-year-old Jeremy Scott Bettes at Noon today on an arrest warrant for first degree murder in connection to the death of 61-year-old Sharon Judd. Bettes was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.

NPD responded to a report of an overdose in the 700 block of Highland Parkway at approximately 2:30 p.m. on December 24. Upon arrival, officers located a female, later identified as 61-year-old Sharon Judd, deceased inside the home. As the investigation continued, detectives determined her death to be suspicious in nature, as she had injuries to her body typically consistent with homicide. According to Bettes, he and Judd were the only two individuals at the residence. Bettes
also did not immediately notify police of Judd’s death.

The case remains under investigation by the NPD Criminal Investigations Division.
