UPDATE: Norman Police Arrest Suspect in Crestland Dr. Homicide

Deven Workman (DOB: 01/29/98) is now in custody. Workman turned himself in to the Cleveland County Detention Center just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Workman was booked in on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
The incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be provided as soon as it is available for release.
At about 8:47 p.m. on Friday, the Norman Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Crestland Dr. Two victims were injured during the incident. One of the victims, later identified as 18-year-old Xavier Baskeyfield, died at a local hospital. The second victim, later identified as 52-year-old Kenard Deadmon, was hospitalized for treatment and then released.
Investigators are currently attempting to locate Deven Workman (DOB: 01/29/98). A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Workman for Murder in the First Degree, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The Norman Police department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating Mr. Workman. If you see him, do not approach. Call 911 immediately. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, call Norman Police at 405-321-1444.
The events leading up to the incident and the relationship between the victims and the suspect remains under investigation. However, preliminary information indicates Mr. Baskeyfield and Mr. Workman were known to each other prior to the shooting. Mr. Deadmon is believed to be an innocent bystander.
