UPDATE: NPD Releases Identity of Two Killed in Highway 9 Collision

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a critical injury collision near 60th Avenue SE and State Highway 9 at 12:27 p.m. The preliminary investigation into the collision indicated that a Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on State Highway 9 crossed left of center colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the Ford F-150 has been identified as 59-year-old Steven Arms of Oklahoma City. Arms was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu has been identified as 78-year-old Marlene Sites of Noble, Oklahoma. Sites was declared deceased at the scene.

State Highway 9 was narrowed to one lane in both directions for approximately five hours. The collision is under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation Reconstruction Team (CIRT).
