UPDATE: Second Arrest Made In Connection to Crestland Dr. Homicide

The Norman Police Department has arrested a second individual in connection to the recent homicide that occurred in the 100 block of Crestland Drive. Dustin Lee Gant (DOB: 12/16/1996) was arrested for first degree murder and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Gant was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center without incident.

This homicide remains under investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Crestland Dr. Homicide Update – Suspect in Custody

Deven Workman (DOB: 01/29/98) is now in custody after turning himself in to the Cleveland County Detention Center.

Workman was booked in on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

Initial Release

On March 17 at about 8:47 p.m., the Norman Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Crestland Dr. Two victims were injured during the incident and were treated at local hospitals. One of the victims later died and the other is hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators are currently attempting to locate Deven Workman (DOB: 01/29/98). A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Workman for Murder in the First Degree, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The Norman Police department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating Mr. Workman. If you see him, do not approach. Call 911 immediately. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, call Norman Police at 405-321-1444.

The events leading up to the incident and the relationship between the victims and the suspect remains under investigation, however preliminary information indicates one of the victims and Mr. Workman were known to each other prior to the shooting.
